Saw - The Ride
Client: Thorpe Park | 2009 | Website Experience & Game
When Lionsgate recommended us (Greenroom Digital) to work with Thorpe Park on launching their ride based on the Saw horror movie franchise – I was over the moon.
It wasn’t a huge project, but it was a hugely immersive experience. The microsite was made up of two key areas; a control room where viewers could explore plans for the ride and a game area. It was brilliant working on the designs for the control area and layering in little details for the fans to pick up on however it was the game that really caused a stir.
If you completed the game, you could win a chance to be the first to ride. What made fans go wild was that the game was based on the iconic scene from the first film where our hero must saw his own leg in half!
Creating objects that were part of the world of the film, game or ride always worked wonders for us at this time and although this work is over 15 years old, the approach would still go down a storm now. It’s generous to the fans and that's the key creative insight.
